Tuggerah Lakes Mingara Little Athletics all run by parents and volunteers each season from October to March.
The track & canteen is owned and maintained by Mingara and we lease the facility with other clubs for competitions.
Although we have a synthetic track we are just the same as the other grass track clubs , it will make no difference to your child in particular at younger ages so always support your nearest club.
You are required to help we can’t run competition nights plus Zone , Region and State carnivals with out parent help , note we ask that just parent helpers, athletes etc are inside the track comp area.
We normally have around 300 kids of all age groups but this changes each year.
Primarily we are a competition based club, that mainly competes on Friday evenings ( occasionally Weds, Thurs & Sat mornings ) for an approx 1 hr U6/U8s and 2hrs U9s upward each week.
We encourage participation and inclusevity.
We don’t tolerate bullying or bad language if issues continue you may be asked to leave the club.
No smoking , alcohol , scooters , balls or dogs inside the track. Prams are allowed but only outisde the track comp area.
As a sport we have a high drop out rate as some kids and parents don’t the like the waiting, late nights and or helping. There are no refunds so think carefully.
Unfortunatley some parents think their child is the next Usain Bolt and bccome disappointed when they get to Little athletics and there child is not.
We are a member of the Shoosh for Kids programs, so we don’t want any parents who will yell and carry on inappropriatley at children, volunteers and officials. Yes you will be asked to leave and maybe banned from the facility.
Chill out and remember it is not the Olympics. Kids will stay in the sport longer if the parents help and encourage not demand the impossible.
All athletes must have a parent at the track at all times, you just can’t drop the kids and leave. Failure to be in attendance may result in the athlete being excluded from competition.
Mingara Athletics Club compete on Saturday mornings, all the the family can compete if you want more athletics.

Remember athletes from U12 up are dual registered with ANSW so can compete with Mingara Athletics at non LAs events.
Age groups U6 to U17 ( sorry no Tiny Tots again ).
There will be no trials as this stage but you can check out other local clubs that do offer trials.

Training & Track Pass
At present we have no training night set as at this time we don’t have any coaches booked in as yet . Hopefully this changes closer to season start , if you can assist with coaching please contact the club.
Having said that we will issue track passes on the first night which will enable members to train inpendently at the the track or with some of the private coaches who operate at the track.

Same goes for track closures for extreme heat , rain or thunderstorms. Unless we feel that we can get through the entire night then we don’t normaly run.

Helpers should have a working with children check if they don’t have a child in that age group or at the club.
As usual we will use our electronics timing gates and full online results system ” Results HQ ” . We will need extra helpers to key in results as usual.
We are lucky to have a parent Todd W who will be the age manager co ordinator this year. If you want to to be an age manager please email the club we need 2 to 3 per age group depending on size. We will also be seeking older athletes to assist with the younger age groups.
We will need somene to assist with the website & facebook , safety , fundraising, carnivals manager ie Zone – Region- State and results officer & helpers. Please contact the club as we offer a small rebate off fees for people who take complete a committee role during the season.
