We are back , we are now taking registrations for the 2018/2019 season.
Tuggerah Lakes Mingara Little Athletics all run by parents and volunteers each season from October to March.
The track & canteen is owned and maintained by Mingara and we lease the facility with other clubs for competitions.
Although we have a synthetic track we are just the same as the other grass track clubs , it will make no difference to your child in particular at younger ages so allways support your nearest club.
You are required to help we can’t run competition nights plus Zone , Region and State carnivals with out parent help , note we ask that just parent helpers, athletes etc are inside the track comp area.
We normally have around 300 kids of all age groups but this changes each year.
Primarily we are a competition based club, that mainly competes on Friday evenings ( occasionally Weds, Thurs & Sat mornings ) for an approx 1 hr U6/U8s and 2hrs U9s upward each week.
We encourage participation and inclusevity.
We don’t tolerate bullying or bad language if issues continue you may be asked to leave the club.
No smoking , alcohol , scooters , balls or dogs inside the track. Prams are allowed but only outisde the track comp area.
As a sport we have a high drop out rate as some kids and parents don’t the like the waiting, late nights and or helping. There are no refunds so think carefully.
Unfortunatley some parents thinks their child is the next Usain Bolt and bccome disappointed when they get to LA’s and there child is not.
We are a member of the Shoosh for Kids programs, so we don’t want any parents who will yell and carry on inappropriatley at children, volunteers and officials. Yes you will be asked to leave and maybe banned from the facility.
Chill out and remember it is not the Olympics. Kids will stay in the sport longer if the parents help and encourage not demand the impossible.
All athletes must have a parent at the track at all times, you just can’t drop the kids and leave. Failure to be in attendance may result in the athlete being excluded from competition.
Mingara Athletics Club compete on Saturday mornings, all the the family can compete if you want more athletics.
We thank the team for doing our BBQ each week.
Remember athletes from U12 up are dual registered with ANSW so can compete with Mingara Athletics at non LAs events.
Age groups U6 to U17 ( sorry no Tiny Tots again ).
There will be no trials as this stage but you can check out other local clubs that do offer trials.
Fully online see this link ” REGO “
Little Athletics NSW have increased there fees this season by $15.00 and there was some other small increases in our clubs fixed costs.
We thank Mingara for keeping the track fees just about unchanged.
As a result we could have increased our fees, but have decided this year to reduce fees from $145.00 to $140.00 for all age groups to keep the sport affordable.
To do this we will be doing the following and cutting some costs.
Zone & part of the Region entry fees will no longer be covered which is fairer for those who can’t or don’t attend. ( Zone and Region fees will need to be paid seperately ).
We will be moving to a cut down electronic version of the yearbook to be released in the coming months.
The cost plus the many hours it takes our volunteers to compile the book no longer make it viable in its current form.
Presentation and awards will be scaled back this season, unless our club members choose to fund raise for these.
Crop Top $25.00 and Singlet $30.00
These will be available for purchase (CASH Only) on the first rego pack pick up night and the first 3 nights of the season then on demand.
Any black shorts or tights preferrably plain.
Training & Track Pass
At present we have no training night set as at this time we don’t have any coaches booked in as yet . Hopefully this changes closer to season start , if you can assist with coaching please contact the club.
Having said that we will issue track passes on the first night which will enable members to train inpendently at the the track or with some of the private coaches who operate at the track.
Some of the changes this year will be as follows.
Walks will become optional and all be done on Rotation A at 5.30pm. There will be a seperate points competition for walks .
Javelin at this stage will be moved to the end of each night due to persitent issues with safety.
U6s will be full comp from the start of the season.
U10′s will no longer do 1500m this season a new event will be added to there program.
Athletes that started at 6.15pm last year will start at 6.30pm this season unless they have high jump or optional walks.
Presentation will be the week after State.
Visitors this year will be charged $10.00 per child per night .
At this stage we will not be bringing in a $20.00 parent helper bond but as per last year age will be rostered to help with setup, pack up and track assistance ie finish lines and inner track
State is now a 2 day carnival.
Region will be back at Glendale woo hoo over 2 days.
Some minor rule changes that will be detailed before the first comp night.
We are considering running a Gala day or event this season TBA .
We are replacing our hurdles and mats shed this season, which will help keep our equipment in better condition and make it easier to deploy & pack up each week.
We thank the present and past club members for the funds to do this.
Final event program and rotation will be posted prior to the first comp night.
Fundraising there maybe some Fundraising events ie Bunnings BBQ this season.
Check our website for the most up to date information this will be populated further towards season start.
Our clubs facebook page is also a good place to find information each week.
Same goes for track closures for extreme heat , rain or thunderstorms. Unless we feel that we can get through the entire night then we don’t normaly run.
More information including interclub Gala day carnivals, State Relay and Multi etc , check out ” LANSW “
Helpers should have a working with children check if they don’t have a child in that age group or at the club.
As usual we will use our electronics timing gates and full online results system ” Results HQ ” . We will need extra helpers to key in results as usual.
We are lucky to have a parent Todd W who will be the age manager co ordinator this year. If you want to to be an age manager please email the club we need 2 to 3 per age group depending on size. We will also be seeking older athletes to assist with the younger age groups.
We will need somene to assist with the website & facebook , safety , fundraising, carnivals manager ie Zone – Region- State and results officer & helpers. Please contact the club as we offer a small rebate off fees for people who take complete a committee role during the season.
Note these dates are subject to change due to weather, track availability and volunteer availability.
( Please disregard any previous information on dates that you may have seen during the rego process ).
